Does Innovation Matter in Emerging Markets?
There is no doubt that emerging markets are important, but does innovation really matter in those economies? In this event co-hosted by AmCham China and the United States Information Technology Office (USITO), Steve Todd, director of EMC’s global Innovation Network and Henry Shen, chief marketing officer, GE Greater China & Mongolia, will discuss the innovation programs at EMC and GE. These programs help identify the needs of consumers in those mass markets and give local employees a creative mindset that will help further identify market needs.
Todd will provide a global perspective and insights on how a global company can harness its resources such as research, development and innovation to foster a shared, collaborative vision.
Shen will provide a local approach by discussing GE’s famous “reverse innovation” practices in China, as well as his thoughts on whether this approach can be learned by SMEs.
