SAMR & SAC Released Mandatory National Standard Intelligent and Connected Vehicle – Safety Requirements for Automated Driving System
On Aug 4, SAMR and SAC released the mandatory national standard Intelligent and connected vehicle – Safety requirements for automated driving system (GB 44721-2026). The standard is expected to take effect on July 1, 2027, and will apply primarily to passenger vehicles, including cars and buses, and goods vehicles, including light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, equipped with L3 conditional driving automation or L4 high driving automation systems.
