MIIT Calls for Telecoms and Internet Cybersecurity Pilot Projects Applications

On July 26, MIIT Cybersecurity Management Bureau published a notice calling for 2017 Cybersecurity Pilot Projects in the telecommunications and internet industries. The notice is to implement the Cyber Security Law and National Cybersecurity Strategy, promote telecommunications and the Internet industry network security ability.

The cybersecurity pilot projects is a annual initiative rolled out by MIIT. Last year, MIIT called for the 2016 Cybersecurity Pilot Projects in June, and announced 49 cybersecurity pilot project for the year of 2016 as models in January 2017.  Those pilot projects in 2016 are mainly from the big telecom operators, internet companies and cybersecurity companies.
