CAC Releases Internet Information Service License Rules
On May 22, the China Internet Information Office published detailed implementation guidelines for the Internet Information Service License Management Regulation that will take effect June 1, 2017. The guidelines call to raise the management standards for licensed providers.
The Implementation guidelines have a total of 18 articles that:
- Define the goals, scope and service classification requirements (Articles 1-3)
- Discuss conditions for obtaining a license, necessary application materials, and security assessment report requirements (Articles 4-8)
- List the required materials for license approval, audits, and decisions. (Articles 9-11)
- State the process for license changes, extensions, and cancellations (Articles 12-16)
- Grant authorities the right to conduct random inspection and reviews (Article 17)
