12 Intelligent Manufacturing Standards Announced

On October 8, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released proposals for initiating 12 intelligent manufacturing related standards following MIIT’s Intelligent Manufacturing working plan and is calling for public comments until November 7th, 2016.

The 12 intelligent manufacturing related standards are:

GZNCPZT0114-2016 Intelligent Manufacturing System Architecture
GZNCPZT0115-2016 Information Model of Digital Workshop in Machine Manufacturing
GZNCPZT0119-2016 Information technology-Industrial Cloud Service –Model
GZNCPZT0120-2016 Information technology - Industrial Cloud Service - Capabilities General Requirements
GZNCPZT0121-2016 Construction Guidelines of Intelligent Plants Part 1: Intelligent Systems of Plants
GZNCPZT0122-2016 Digital Factory – General Technical Requirements
GZNCPZT0117-2016 Intelligent Manufacturing Capability Maturity Model General Requirements
GZNCPZT0118-2016 Intelligent Manufacturing Maturity Model Part 2:Appraisal method
GZNCPZT0116-2016 Industrial Internet - General Network Framework
GZNCPZT0111-2016 Identification System for the Manufacturing Industry—Requirements
GZNCPZT0112-2016 Intelligent Manufacturing Object Identification Requirements
GZNCPZT0113-2016 Intelligent Manufacturing Guidelines for Manufacturing Object Identification Analytical System Application

Standards 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11 & 12 are under the National Information Technology Standardization Technical Committee (TC 28), standards 9 &10 are under National Telecommunication Standardization Technical Committee (TC485), while Standards 2 & 6 are under the National Metal-Cutting Machine Tool Technical Committee (TC22) and National TC124 on Industrial Process Measurement, Control and Automation respectively.

These 12 standards are the first batches of standards setting projects specific to intelligent manufacturing and aim to support China’s building efforts in Intelligent Manufacturing as outlined in Made in China 2025. Based on the proposals, the 12 standards will not adopt international standards partly because of the lack of existing international standards in those fields and the timeline for the standards is 24 months.
