MIIT Radio Management Bureau Outlines Key Work Areas

On March 1, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Radio Management Bureau held a policy working meeting, presided over by MIIT Vice Minister Liu Lihua. During the meeting, MIIT Radio Management Bureau director Die Feibo listed the Bureau's top ten work areas for 2016, namely:
  • Organize spectrum allocation evaluation programs
  • Optimize wireless frequency and satellite resources
  • Improve the management of wireless base stations
  • Implement the Electric Wave Defender plan (system to identify fake base stations)
  • Improve the legal framework for wireless management
  • Use standardization to drive improvements in technology
  • Standardize spectrum management systems
  • Advance international wireless frequency and satellite network coordination 
  • Educate the public about spectrum and wireless related issues
  • Improve coordination in spectrum and wireless management
