CCC Requirements Added For Chargers, Adapters

On January 6, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA) issued two announcements regarding CCC requirements for Products with USB Interface for Charging and Adapters and Cord Extension Sets.

 

According to the announcements, the Catalog of Products Subject to China Compulsory Certificationnow includes "power adapters (including chargers/dis-chargers) for IT equipment" and "power adapters (including chargers/dis-chargers) for audio & video equipment" with a USB interface. 

 

According to the announcements, from Jan 1, 2017, multi-functional products without a CCC certificate are prohibited from shipment from factory, sale, import or use in business activities.

 

The CCC requirements are also required from April 14, 2017 for adapters (except those with foreign standard plugs or socket-outlets) and cord extension sets with national standard-compliant hole combinations newly placed under the CCC certification program.
