MIIT Signs Strategic Agreement with Shanghai Local Government

On October 9, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Minister Miao Wei signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Shanghai city government aimed at helping Shanghai develop its innovative industries. The agreement promotes a set of "Four New" initiatives: new industry, new technology, new environment and a new development model. 

The signing ceremony was held directly after Minister Miao took part in a Shanghai government discussion on implementing the China Manufacturing 2025 policy. The meeting was attended by Shanghai Mayor and Deputy Party Secretary Yang Xiong, Vice Mayor Zhou Bo, and information communications technology officials.
