CATR On Newly Released 2013 Telecommunications Business Catalogue

On June 25th, the China Academy of Telecommunications Research (CATR) released an interpretation on the rationale behind the release of the 2013 Telecommunications Business Catalogue. 

Zhang Yanbin, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of New Technology and Value-Added Services of CATR, stated that the purpose of the new catalogue is to ensure the development, classification and management of the industry as well as provide a framework for industry regulation and license approval.

The revision process for the Telecommunications Business Catalogue adopted a scientific approach to encourage innovation and promote fundamental open market principles in fostering telecom industry development. For more information, please refer to the original article in Chinese.
