State Council Issues Guiding Opinions to Promote Electric Car Infrastructure
Last week, the State Council announced a set ofGuiding Opinions aimed at promoting the development of electric automobile battery charging infrastructure, setting ambitious objectives to make electric vehicle development a focal point of China's economic transformation.
The guiding opinions set a number of objectives, including creation of charging infrastructure to support at least 5 million electric automobiles by 2020, with an emphasis on developing smart, efficient charging technologies, as well as publication of charging infrastructure requirements for new and existing buildings that house parking lots.
