Shanghai Mayor Says FTZ Negative List Will Be Shortened Over Time
Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiong stated on Oct. 27th that the "Negative List for the Shanghai Free Trade Zone" will be shortened as work progresses, according to local media reports.
While speaking at the 25th International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai, Mr. Yang said he expected revised versions of the Negative List to be released in 2014 and 2015.
Mr. Yang further stated, "People might complain that the opening up effort is not big enough. There are still many areas requiring special approvals. However, we believe that further opening up and shortening of the Negative List is on the way" in Chinese.
