After the release of finalized Standardization Law, the Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), Standardization Administration of China (SAC) and Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) released Regulation on Social Organization Standards (Interim) on December 15, 2017. This set of regulations further explained the concept and articles of social organization standards included in the Standardization Law. According to the interim regulations, social organization will be jointly developed and market-driven. SAC will oversee social organization standardization work, and different relevant administrative department will oversee the social organization standardization work under its scope and industry.
On December 19, 2017 the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released Implementing Opinions on Developing Social Organization Standards for the Industry and Communications Sector. The Opinions will enhance market recognition of social organization standards and create the environment for social organization standards and implementing measures. The finalized opinions align terms and definitions with the newly released Standardization Law, including the term social organizations, and removed the term “industry alliance”.
