MIIT Seeks Comment On Rules for Designating IC Design Enterprises
On Oct. 23th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released for public comment revised rules for designation of IC design enterprises, with a comment deadline of Oct. 31st.
The new rules, which update the earlier version released in 2002, are slated to take effect Jan. 1st, 2014, and include certification standards and procedures. The China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA) and local institutions are responsible for assessing enterprises and policy implementation.
