MIIT released Implementation Opinions on the Innovative Development of “AI + Information and Communications” (2026-2028)
On June 10, MIIT released the Implementation Opinions on the Innovative Development of “AI + Information and Communications” (2026-2028). The Opinions set out China’s medium- to long-term policy direction for integrating AI with the information and communications sector, including intelligent network operations, AI-ready infrastructure, computing-network integration, intelligent terminals, industry applications, cybersecurity safeguards, and standards development. For member companies, the document signals future policy support and market opportunities around “AI + ICT” infrastructure, network-AI convergence, intelligent agents, AI-enabled telecom services, and participation in related pilots, evaluation systems, and international standards-setting.
