MIIT and Eight Other Ministries Jointly Release the Development Plan for the Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Industry under the 15th Five-Year Plan
On Sept 10, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and eight other ministries jointly released the Development Plan for the Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Industry under the 15th Five-Year Plan. The Plan outlines priorities for 2026-2030, including automotive chips and software, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, vehicle-road-cloud integration, cybersecurity and data security, charging infrastructure, and battery recycling. It sets targets for new energy passenger vehicles to account for approximately 70 percent of new passenger vehicle sales and for the large-scale application of vehicles equipped with automated driving functions by 2030.
