ISC Held 4th Congress and Board 1st Executive Meeting in Beijing
Mr. Zhang Feng, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), gave a keynote speech at the Fourth Congress and Fourth Board Conference First Executive Meeting
organized by the Internet Society of China (ISC) in Beijing on July 5th.
Mr. Zhang stated that MIIT attaches great importance to supporting Internet innovation and development through the formulation of standards, regulatory policies, and frameworks to stimulate a rapid and healthy Internet expansion. China's current priorities are to:
- Promote the establishment of a national broadband network with the construction of a safe next generation national information infrastructure.
- Strengthen top-level industrial information systems and infrastructure to promote industrial development and core competitiveness.
- Intensify the use of Internet technologies in industry, agriculture and services to improve socio-economic development and promote information mass consumption.
- Improve the regulatory and legal framework to strengthen network and information security management and foster an honest competitive market environment.
