Industrial Control System Assessment Work Underway
On August 11, MIIT released the Administrative Measures for Industrial Control System Information Security Protection Capability Assessment Work (hereinafter referred to as the Measures). The Measures are drafted in accordance with Cyber Security Law and the Guiding Opinions of the State Council on Further Integrating Manufacturing with Internet, and focus on standardizing the Industrial Control System security protection capability assessment activities conducted by industrial enterprises, strengthening the management of assessment bodies, personnel and tools associated with Industrial Control System security protection capability assessment, and making procedures clear for Industrial Control System security protection capability assessment work.
The Measures stipulate that an Expert Committee on Assessment of the State’s Industrial Control System Security Protection Capability is responsible for advising assessment work. Additionally, a working group for assessment of the State’s Industrial Control System security protection capability was created to manage day-to-day work associated with Industrial Control System security protection capability assessment, and that the working group will establish a secretariat under it, which is located at the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center.
