Electronic Product Fireproofing Safety Standard Shelved
Two main drafters from Shenyang's Fire Research Institute (SYFRI) have confirmed to USITO that the Electronic Product Fireproofing Safety Standard has been shelved and won't be released within the next two years. The reason given is that SYFRI is focusing on higher priority issues.
Previously, a representative of the National Society for Flame Retardants and Environmental Safety had been quoted in a May 7th media report stating the standard would be implemented in 2013. The representative has since told USITO that the statement was mis-quoted and inaccurate, confirming the SYFRI reports.
