China's IC Industry Grew 12% in 2012

China's overall IC industry sales grew 11.6% to RMB 215.85 billion in 2012, according to a report released Monday by the China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA).

The CSIA report attributed the growth to macroeconomic policies supporting broadband and countryside home appliance consumption. Highlights include:

• Design up 18.1% to RMB 62B
• Manufacturing up 16.1% to RMB 50B 
• Packaging & testing up 6.1% to RMB104B
