6.3 USITO/AmCham Executive Briefing on Cybersecurity Trends and Best Practices for Foreign MNCs
Cybersecurity has become a top-of-mind issue for executives in China - It is no longer an IT issue considered only by technical staff. The key findings in Symantec’s newly released annual Internet Security Threat Report revealed that in 2014, 1 in every 4 banks, 3 manufacturers, and 2 energy companies were victims of cyber-attacks. Customer identity loss is the largest data risk in the cyber-attacks. In 2014, data breaches increased by 23 percent, with retail and finance sectors experiencing the most severe customer identity theft.
To address this fast-changing issue, Amcham China and the US Information Technology Office (USITO) will be holding a briefing session featuring Mr. Victor Law, Regional Director, Enterprise Security, Symantec, Greater China Region, who will share information on:
- cybersecurity trends in 2014-2015
- what they mean to member companies and how to improve cybersecurity
This briefing will be an executive-level discussion on cybersecurity risk management and best corporate security practice to adapt to the fast-changing landscape globally and in China. The speaker will be sharing cybersecurity trends for various industries such as finance, manufacturing, retails, R&D intensive, etc., for MNC’s as well as SME’s.
