REPORT LINE: Policy Manager

KEY DUTIES
Policy Advocacy and Liaison. Support policy manager on USITO’s policy advocacy agenda, provide insights and thought on emerging policy issues
Partnering and Positioning. Help policy manager to ensure the effective partnering and positioning of USITO with key government-affiliated industry associations, standards bodies, think tanks, academic institutions and research institutes; partner with other like-minded foreign (non-China) institutions, and work to strengthen the leadership position of USITO in areas of policy and advocacy for the U.S. ICT industry.
Desktop research:

  • Research on given key topics by each working group
  • Collect member feedback and comments
  • Summary/ highlight/ track policy changes
  • Translate and polish the document

Event support. Support policy manager on events and meetings.
USITO external communication tool:

  • Draft website content based on raw materials (as required)
  • Draft USITO weekly policy brief and News Letter
  • Maintain USITO event tool (www.usito.eventbank.org)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Keen interest in trade policy and technology.
  • Rock-solid integrity and the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships.
  • Experience in the ICT industry, or in related public policy sector, research or consulting.
  • Understanding of the structure and business markets of the U.S. ICT industry.
  • Experience in constructive engagement with the Chinese and U.S. governments on issues affecting the bilateral economic relationship.
  • Superior communication skills in Chinese and English; strong writing skills.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-cultural setting.
  • Track record of contributing to foster cross-organizational alliances.
