TC260 Publishes 2017 Work Plan

On March 13, TC260 released a work plan for 2017, laying out key tasks and priorities which include R&D for  cybersecurity products and services and critical information infrastructure protection standards. The work plan states that new compulsory standards should align with existing standards for network security products, technology and management.

TC260 will develop a series of voluntary national standards, including data security related standards, to support the newly mentioned Data Security Management Measures. The supporting standards include Personal Information Security Specification, Big Data Security Management Guideline, Big Data Security Capability Requirements, and other personal information and data related standards. Information system security classified protection and encryption related standards are also in development/revision. Standards for emerging technologies such as IoT, BlockChain and AI will be researched by TC260 as well.

TC260 is keen to actively engage in and contribute to the international standards setting process, especially in ISO/IEC JTC/SC27, and aims to promote China's cryptographic algorithms as international standards.
