National Industrial Information Security Industry Alliance Established

The National Industrial Information Security Industry Alliance (NIISIA) was established in Beijing on June 8, 2017. Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and Xu Fushun, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), spoke at the inaugural meeting of NIISIA. In his speech, Miao emphasized the importance of making industrial information security a systematic project, requiring participation and concerted efforts of all stakeholders. He stated the alliance's mission and the following tasks: first, to ensure all members work together to turn the alliance into a platform enabling government and industry to collaborate and act in unison; second, by taking an integration-centered development approach, to turn the alliance into a cross-sectoral integration platform covering automation, IT application and information security; and third, by playing a leading role, to develop the alliance into a platform facilitating the integration, linking of and promotion of industry resources.
 
The NISIA operates under the guidance of the MIIT. Minister Miao Wei serves as the chairman of the alliance's steering committee, while Wu Hequan, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), will head the alliance's expert advisory committee and serve as its chairman.
