MIIT Proposes Additional Bands for 5G

On June 8, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced that they are soliciting comments and feedbacks on the use of 24.75-27.5GHz, 37-42.5GHz and other millimeter wave bands for 5G with a deadline of Aug. 7, 2017. Different from previous notice by MIIT on the allocation of lower frequency bands for 5G, where guidelines on the use of allocated frequency bands have been given, the new announcement only listed the frequency bands. MIIT has also listed a few aspects where they would like to collect suggestions, including current status of the given frequency bands, technical problems when implementing higher frequencies and solutions to these problems.
