MIIT Now Accepting Foreign Applications for Smart Manufacturing Pilot Programs

On February 28, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the Pilot Plan for the Integration of Manufacturing and Internet in order to better implement the Guidelines on Deepening the Integration of Manufacturing and the Internet released by the State Council in May 2016.

Applicants for the pilot program may include companies in manufacturing, IT, or internet industries. US ICT companies that have legal entities registered in China may apply for the pilot program and should submit applications to the Local Commission of Economy and Informatization (EIC).

Requirements:
Applicant should have enough revenue and economic strength, strong capabilities on technology R&D, and integration of innovation.
Manufacturing applicants should have qualifying digital, network, or smart infrastructure to ensure that internet applications can be integrated.
IT applicants should already have mature product/service solutions for scalable application and substantial experience in providing manufacturing solutions.

Deadline for submission is April 15.
