MIIT Hosts "Two Meetings" Implementation Session

Last week, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) organized an internal meeting to discuss how they would implement decisions reached at the "Two Meetings" earlier in March. MIIT Party Secretary and Vice Minister Xu Dazhe presided over the meeting, which was attended by more than 500 MIIT officials.

According to a media report published on the MIIT website, Xu's remarks focused on five key areas where MIIT must work to implement decisions from the "Two Meetings," as listed below:
  • Internalize and promulgate the political conclusions reached at the "Two Meetings," studying and widely disseminating President Xi's "major speeches"; raise the political awareness and sense of urgency surrounding critical Party work objectives.
  • Advance the key areas in the "Two Meetings" work report for which MIIT is directly responsible, namely, consumer goods quality control, industrial upgrading, new energy vehicle development and national defense technological capacity building.
  • Push forward existing policies referenced in the "Two Meetings" work report, namely telecommunications portions of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the Internet Plus Action Plan and China Manufacturing 2025.
  • Study and consider relevant ideas proposed during the "Two Meetings," engaging in inspection visits and local government dialogues when necessary.
  • Continue to improve government work style, with emphasis on eliminating corruption.
