MIIT Holds Consultation with Telecom Providers to Strengthen Industry

 

On July 29th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) hosted a three-day consultation with telecom representatives for recommendations on advancing industry development, strengthening regulatory control, and addressing network information security assurance concerns.

MIIT Vice-Minister Shang pledged to consider industry recommendations and coordinate with relevant ministries to address industry development challenges. The Vice-Minister also encouraged industry focus on mobile Internet, new telecom value-added services, cloud computing and other key technologies, and called for advancing China's technological core competence, protecting consumer rights and ensuring network operation and information system security.
