7.17 USITO Cloud Forum

USITO is pleased to invite you to a USITO forum on cloud scheduled for the morning of July 17. This forum will be focusing on information sharing and policy discussion on China's cloud market and hot topics we community concern a lot. We will be able to hear from the most updated research findings of the market, comprehensive interpretation of China's strategy design on the regulatory framework and its potential impacts to cloud services developer and provider in China, and some best practices dealing with these opportunitis and challenges.

The event will be only open to USITO members ensuring a frank and deep discussion. It's to start with two keynote speeches and followed by an open panel discussion. We've succesfully confirmed Jeff YAO, Associate Vice President of IDC, Wei DING, Director of Standards Strategy and Policy from Oracle, and Kevin LUO, General Manager of Microsoft's Asia R&D Group for the presentation and discussions.

Bios:

Jeffrey Yao

As an Associate Vice President for IDC, Jeffrey Yao is currently managing the Enterprise System, Software and Services research business in China. Jeffrey has more than 17 years regional experience both in Asia/Pacific and North America, from industries that span across the IT, Computer Graphics, and Power and Telecommunications sectors. He has served in various marketing and product management leadership roles for IT solutions, hi-tech hardware, software, and services.

Prior to joining IDC China, Jeffrey was leading the APJ server solution marketing at Dell and was fully responsible for all aspects of marketing initiatives across the region. He provided strategic and operational leadership in developing, managing and driving integrated and measurable activities from various perspectives including product marketing, go-to-market campaigns, marketing communication, alliance and channel, and online marketing.

Ding Wei

Dr. Ding Wei is acting as Director, Standards Strategy and Policy, Oracle China. In this role, he is taking care of Oracle Standards strategy and policy affairs. Before joining Oracle, he worked in the Department of Technical Standards and Policy in Intel and Sun Microsystems. Before going to private company, Ding Wei was a lecturer in Dept. of E-commerce, Nanjing University.      

Ding Wei is in the field of technical standard setting, standards strategy implementation and policy affairs for more than a decade. He was once leading national standards setting on e-commerce and e-government, now being invited expert in advisory committee for China standardization system reform, and engaging in IT security and cloud business strategy setting for Oracle. Dr. Ding is taking the expert role in the Cloud Computing Advisory Committee, China Institute of Electronics; Chair of TCI WG, USTIO; advisor to the Code of Conduct policy setting for consortia standardization, SAC; and member of Standardization Committee, AmCham China.

Kevin Luo

Dr. Kevin Luo is the General Manager of Microsoft's Asia R&D Group. He is responsible for all legal matters for the Group. The Asia R&D Group, headquartered in Beijing, is Microsoft's largest R&D group outside the US. Dr. Luo is also responsible for China's IP and security policy and he is also an Assistant General Counsel of Microsoft Corporation.

Prior to the current responsibility, Dr. Luo was the Associate General Counsel for Patents for Microsoft's Server and Tools Business, a US$16 billion business. Dr. Luo had also been the Director of IP Licensing, Senior Licensing Counsel, and the lead patent attorney for Windows Division at Microsoft.
