Updated Environmental Protection List Issued by MEP

The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) released the updated draft of the Environmental Protection General List (2017 Edition) for public comment, with a deadline of Dec 6, 2017.

The Environmental Protection General List (2017 Edition) (Draft for Comments) focuses on seeking comments on two lists, namely the list of “highly polluting and highly environmentally risky” products (hereinafter “two highly” products) and the list of key equipment for environmental protection. Explanatory notes on “exception process” of certain products in the list of “highly polluting and highly environmentally risky” products (2017 edition) are also included.

The general list has played an increasingly important role in promoting the establishment of environmental and economic policies such as green taxation, green trading and green finance. In recent years, in conjunction with the research results of the general list, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has successively pushed and cooperated with relevant authorities to promulgate a series of environmental and economic policies.
