SAC Publishes 357 National Standards to Support Development Goals

 

On May 15, the Standardization Association of China (SAC) released on its website 357 national standards aimed at providing technical support for China's economic growth and structural reforms.

There are 4 key features of the newly published standards:

  • Promotion of e-commerce: 3 basic standards respectively on e-commerce platform operation, service quality rating and branding value, as well as 24 information technology security standards to ensure e-commerce transaction security.
  • Energy efficiency and environmental protection: 20 relevant standards on electric vehicles and renewable energy, in order to improve industry innovation and industrialization capabilities.
  • Health safety protection: standards on food, transportation, etc. to better protect consumer health and human safety.
  • Further enhancement of standardization capability: 86 standards were adopted from international advanced standards, with an aim to harmonize China's technology development with global practices on aerospace electronics, basic materials, etc., so as to facilitate China manufacturing "going out" and international cooperation in equipment manufacture and capacity building.
