MIIT Releases Informatization Development Plan
On Oct. 25th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued its "Informatization Development Plan." The Plan is a joint policy announced with the State Council to implement the key strategies outlined in "The 12th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development" (released in 2011) and "2006-2020 National Informatization Development Strategies" (released in 2006).
The Informatization Development Plan also includes specific guidelines, principles, and key development objectives, including raising the National Informatization Index rating from 0.707 in 2010 up to 0.79 by 2015.
