China IC IP Alliance Established To Boost Domestic IC Industry

On January 20, the China IC IP Allianceannounced its formal establishment at the 2016 China IC IP Summit in Beijing. The China IC IP Alliance is an industry, non-profit social organization led by the MIIT Electronic Technology Intelligence Research Institute, with the aim of collaborating with the China National IC Fund to integrate resources of the entire industry supply chain and become an emerging IP organization with global impact.
 
MIIT Electronics Information Department Deputy Director-General Peng Hongbing, NDRC Anti-Monopoly Bureau Director-General Zhang Handong,SIPO Protection and Coordination Department Director-General Huang Qing, General Administration of Customs Policy and Regulation Department Deputy Director-General Yu Bin andZhongguancun Administration Assistant Director Meng Haiyan participated in the inaugural meeting and delivered the keynote speeches. 
 
Key tasks of the Alliance include:
  • strengthen IC IP risk management to ensure the free expansion and secure development of China's IC industry in the global market
  • facilitate China's patent deployment globally through member joint research and development of critical technologies as well as IP acquisition
  • provide services for IC IP asset management to help China's IC industry gain competitive advantage globally
  • participate in major international innovation projects and standards making to increase the premium of China's IC industry
The Alliance is composed of domestic enterprises along the IC supply chain, covering IC design, manufacturing, packaging, testing, equipment and materials, as well as standardization organizations, research institutes and software development integration and internet associations. China IC Fund Corporation President Ding Wenwu serves as Honorary Chairman of the Alliance.
