China Establishes Manufacturing Leading Small Group

On June 24, the State Council announced the formation of the "China Strong Manufacturing" Leading Small Group, which will focus on top-level coordination in China's efforts to transition from being a "large manufacturing country" to a "strong manufacturing country." The group will be responsible for planning new policies in the manufacturing sector and coordinating implementation of the China Manufacturing 2025 plan.

An English translation and analysis paper for the China Manufacturing 2025 plan are available in the "Publications" section of the USITO website.

According to the announcement, Vice Premier Ma Kai will chair the new small leading group, while Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Minister Miao Wei will serve as vice chairman, along with five other ministerial level officials, including National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) vice director Lin Nianxiu.
