China Builds Momentum Towards Imminent 4G License Release and TD-LTE Rollout

 

China is readying itself for commercial implementation of 4G TD-LTE technologies.
On Sept. 11th, China News Media reported that Mr. Zhang Xiaoqiang, Vice Chairmen of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), announced the imminent release of 4G licenses at the Summer Davos Forum held in Dalian.

Then on Sept. 12th, Mr. Wang Zhiqin, Director of the Standards Department of the China Academy of Telecommunications Research (CATR), stated at the Wireless China Industry Summit that pilot trials of TD-LTE networks have achieved first phase targets and met commercial requirements for implementation.
